Many of us are retired and we lead a homely life. Usually there is nothing to do because there is no work to fill our daily routines. In this case, you need to become an autonomous person who sets their own goals and achieves their own destiny rather than relying on your boss to tell you what to do everyday.
When people retire and they have nothing to do, a portion of them will turn to vices to entertain themselves. Things like smoking ten packs a day, drinking 10 litres of beer per afternoon, fucking 3 Thai prostitutes in one morning, gambling away thousands of dollars at the casino, and still arguing with your wife over money at night and then sleeping on the couch. These are the real sufferings of any man possessed by evil spirits.
Purge The Evil Spirits
The primary thing to do is break free of evil spirit possession by exorcism or banishing the evil by temple, church, mosque, or synagogue prayer. Make sure to give a donation to the gods of your holy institution for their help. When you feel you are saner and better, focus on the next step….
Break Free Of Vice Habits
All those bad habits you once treasured, you now have the power to trash forever! Without the evil spirit holding you to your vices, you have full control to choose your destiny to be a free and good person. Cut that alcohol, abstain from sex addiction, quit smoking, stop gambling, and don’t argue with your wife! (Take her out to a nice dinner instead.)

What to do in your free time when you are a good person and a free man or free woman? A life that is free of vices and prostitutes and gigolos? Let’s look at that now….
1. Study
Always be reading, watching, or listening to some educational material. Books, online courses like LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, and special home study online courses you purchase, audiobook libraries like Libby and Audible; Apple Podcasts, online newspapers and magazines from your library, live short courses on Skillsfuture Singapore and of course our formal schools like Polytechnic Diplomas and University Degrees. The number of courses and subjects are limitless and cover everything you can imagine! You need these skills and you should enjoyably spend your time learning and acquiring enhanced knowledge, skillsets, and mindsets. This investment of time in learning definitely enhances your life by giving you the knowledge and certifications to apply for higher-level work which PAYS MORE! So one secret to a happy life is… don’t retire. Keep working. As long as you enjoy it.
2. Do Complex Work
If you are old and you still want to be rich, you have got to keep working! You got to have your own business or hobby that makes money. You cannot rest on your laurels and read the newspaper every day, watching the world in horror as it spits out its wars and politics and murders, without paying you a cent! Money… you have to think of how to make it! You have to think about how to manufacture moolah! Print money with your home business machine! (See Money Machine Consultation) No one is going to give you cash if you don’t know how to take care of your own living. You can’t count on your children… they can hardly support themselves! (And their spouse and children.) You must be the mighty King Kong of Money Making! You got to have the chutzpah to support yourself! Count on no one! Not even your CPF! Central Provident Fund. Always have an automated income stream or regular job or business machine giving you enough fuel to eat and play!
And that means… you got to love doing complex work. Really, it’s the most fun thing to be designing a website, doing a spreadsheet, planning a business, researching a cure etc. Complex work is what people will pay you for. If your coconut (brain) is still intact, you can make a lot of money by churning it’s thinking hard (design a franchise with your mental coconut and start a Mr Coconut Drinks business!)

Fixing your brain is another big issue you can tackle if you know the steps. For example, do you take your fish oils and brain oils? A neurologist can help you recover your mental sharpness with some medicines. It’s not something that is impossible to cure… it’s a treatable condition that can be helped with the right medications. People with a powerful coconut are in better condition to make money. The secret is complex work; even cooking and driving a tram are forms of basic complex work which are more difficult than breathing. People will pay you for complex work. So don’t let your brain go dull without stimulating it with lots of complex work. This is the key to staying mentally active in old age: enjoy doing complex work.
3. Play Games
Do you have a VR Helmet? What about a Playstation or an XBOX? How about a Nintendo Switch? Really, play games. It’s fun! You don’t know what you missed out in your childhood. I used to play Spiderman, Golden Axe, Super Mario and more on my SEGA when younger. I still love buying a game and trying it out on my gaming system.
“I have no time to play games… I’m a working mother….”
No time freedom means you are busy. But does your busyness prevent you from being bored? If you’re busy with life, then you shouldn’t be bored. Playing games is for when you have too much time and too much money… then you play games to overcome the boredom.
“I really worry about my money to the point I can’t play…. I scrimp every meal and save hard.”

So playing games will make you smart. Do you know that? (It can also make you perverted if you play Japanese sex games where you try all kinds of conversations to see a girl naked.) If you want to learn business, try playing a business simulator or a hotel tycoon or railroad tycoon simulation. All these tycoon simulations have the business element in them that can teach you to think and calculate your money and expand your empire!
This point is about playing games to overcome boredom and sharpen your mind, but I realise everyone actually does not have the peace of mind to play games. They’re actually worried about money and making a living. It’s a sad situation…. However, keep your spirits up and look to the next point.
4. Go Out
Yeah, you should go out everyday (at least once a day) to sightsee the world. Eat at different places and visit different locations. This viewing of life outside your home is where you can search for moneymaking ideas! It’s a goldmine! You see a swimming pool with kids, and you think of being a swimming instructor! You see a football match at a stadium and you think of trying your luck at soccer betting! It’s the easiest form of gambling… the statistics are all there. Just choose the football team with the lower return odds. For example if Ipswich wins, odds are 7.0. If Manchester City wins, odds are 1.48. Just take 1.48 and get 48% return on investment on your money. Don’t bet on Ipswich beating Manchester City and you getting 700% your money. Be happy with a 48% ROI. It’s riskier than banking, but safer than stock options, and more lucrative than all — even at just 1.48 return odds, it’s an easy way to multiply your money. Try it with $10.
5. Play Sports
Going out is the key to refreshing your mind and body. The fresh air, the sunlight, the cool breeze, the stone path; the walking motion that circulates your blood. All this gives you a refreshed mind and energised body— swimming, cycling, boating, basketball, golf, tennis, jogging, gym — all the sports and more helps to move your body and thus your mind gets rejuvenated. Thus you should do it once per day — at least a walk to lunch or a trip to the train station. Move around outside your home. You could do sports, you could go eat, you could go shopping, or visit a friend — whatever, just run out every day.
6. Cleaning & Housekeeping
“Cleanliness is next to Godliness” is the line you must remember when you are preparing to scrub your toilet floor. If you will vacuum your floor, clean your car, wash your dishes, do your laundry, polish your windows, and make your bed… you can bet that God loves his child to have a clean living space, and the Holy Spirit will imbue your home — giving you better luck and better habits and better thoughts. You will thank yourself for being such a meticulous cleaner when you are living in your own clean hotel home space. Take pride in cleaning and arranging your home to perfection. That is the thing to do when you have nothing to do. Clean, arrange, and make your space perfect. (That includes junking things.) 7. Listen To Music
Music transforms life into a dance. So you should listen to it all the time. Especially when working, reading, and exercising. Just play music all the time. Get an Apple Music or Spotify subscription. Music turns motion into emotion. Music gives you the joy, tempo, and beat of life. Just imagine you are Simba The Lion King and The Monkey Rafiki is holding you high up in the air upon a cliff for all animals to see while The Circle of Life music plays across the skies. So you should imagine that while you are doing sun salutations in yoga class.
8. Watch Movies
You can learn a lot from TV. Nowadays, the streaming VOD video-on-demand is incredible. I subscribe to Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ so we can watch our favourite shows! My dad is the greatest user of the VOD systems — watching everything from Star Trek to The Incredible Hulk and Superman. Furthermore, VOD is very affordable. One good movie channel will give you so much insight about life and its stories. Do you know your life is also a story? Movies give you the motivation to shape your life. It gives you the oomph and the grit to get things done — when you know that if a mentally-challenged like Forrest Gump could become a decorated war hero, then maybe you too could achieve great things! So, watch and be inspired by movies. One subscription gives you a window into the world; a telescope to view people’s lives.
9. Think
Think on paper. Write down your dreams, plans, and actions. (Best book about this is Maximum Achievement.) The moment you have a dream and a plan of action… you will have a project to work on. And that, is the key to being engaged with life — having a life purpose to work on everyday. ‘Keep busy with good work’ is the old Japanese saying for a long and happy life. 10. Talk To Friends
Finally, help out your friends. Invite them out to lunch and a coffee chat. There is an ancient Buddhist principle known as The Diamond Cutter. By helping your friends to break through their problems and achieve their goals, you too will learn the techniques and principles to break through your own stuck states. Practise the Diamond Cutter Principle by helping friends with problems similar to your own. For example, if you have a love problem, help your brother with his love problem and you will find the solution to yours. If you have a wealth problem, help a friend with his business problem and you will find the solution to your stuck wealth.
That’s how you overcome the boredom of a retired homely life. Some people do cooking and gardening as a hobby; even baking and woodwork — these are all under complex work. The most important thing is to stay productively busy and focused on doing your life purpose. Use the 10 methods and remember… avoid vices and evil spirits. Good luck!
