Singapore is a food paradise and many of the dishes are actually quite affordable. But do you know there is a huge conspiracy behind your food pricing? How can something that takes so long to grow cost so little, especially when it is cooked and served to you?
Food actually costs more than you think.
For example, a whole chicken raised from an egg into a full grown hen. Takes around 6 months. How can all that feeding of a chicken and cleaning its poop, cost only $6 SGD? I’d charge you thousands per chicken for taking care of it and culling it and packaging it and transporting it and freezing it etc.
All this labour for producing the whole chicken for sale, costs $3K per worker on average, you know? What about my delivery trucks and warehousing rental? What about the chicken farm and the culling factory? That costs tens of thousands of dollars to operate per day, you know? How can I sell you a whole chicken that took 6 months to grow for $6 SGD?
Obviously, the whole chicken growing farm process is SPONSORED. There are big bucks being paid by the governments to the chicken farmers, factories, transport, and supermarkets in order to give you a whole chicken at 6 buckazoids.
But is that enough? Do you have enough money to enjoy a comfortable life even with all these food discounts? The answer is NO.
The restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, and hawker stalls in Singapore all get FREE FOOD from the government to cook. The instruction is to cook and sell it cheap. The only thing you have to pay is your own labour, rental, and utilities. But you know what, I notice two things…. Firstly, the price of cooked food is rising. Probably due to rental increase and labour cost increase. Secondly, despite all the made cheap food, many people still can’t afford to make ends meet due to lack of income from difficulty in gaining employment, old age retirement, physical disability, mental illness, or home care commitments.
So you see McDonalds. They have a special smokey beef burger, with medium fries, a coke, and a free ice cream sundae (at SAFRA Country Club — Singapore Armed Forces Reservist Association), for $6 SGD. You know, you want to kill a cow, it’ll cost you thousands! All that food and water used to grow the calf. Potatoes also take around 4 months to grow. I can’t produce the beef burger, the ice cream sundae, the fries, and the coke for you for $6 SGD! What about labour and rental??
Do you think it is a simple matter of economies of scale?? Rubbish! They got paid big bucks for all this farming. All secretly sponsored by the governments’ money.
I’d say the average pay in Singapore for a normal worker is $3K. With that $3K, many people have to feed a family of 6 or so. One grandparent, two parents, husband & wife, and one kid. Many families rely on dual income (husband and wife working), the retired parents take care of the grandparent and the child. So because of these kind of financially excruciating circumstances, I do appreciate my $6 SGD McDonalds that can feed me and my son in one meal.
Governments, what you need to do is to sponsor more money for every worker’s higher salary, or supplement people’s incomes by direct bank deposit every month as seen in the Universal Basic Income proposal. There are a large portion of people that are too young or too old to work. They also need money. So that’s why, instead of sponsoring extra worker salaries, I suggest direct disbursement of cash to the populations’ bank accounts every month. There is real free hidden money flowing through your government systems. I see you all always mentioning in the newspapers that you are trying to balance the budget and avoid fiscal deficit. But you have been sponsoring all the building of the nation and the food and the utilities (power and water is not actually cheap, you know?) with central bank printed money. But you cannot even take some of this free money and give it to the people? Why?! You are always building a low-cost world around the poor people, without giving them money directly. Now it’s time to realise you do have a very infinite money source powering the building and sustenance of your country, then reach into its pockets and give the people an allowance.
Governments, please investigate your central bank borrowed money system. It’s an invisible and unlimited money source for building nations. It’s very secret. It’s even hidden and coveted by the Devil.
Please read Universal Basic Income for more information.
